So the big news is that Bush won the election. I honestly can't say much since in the end he's not my president and everyone's entitled to choose whomever they think is best. I see a couple of problems with how divided America is right now, believe me it really shows. Otherwise what I really don't get is how come Laura Bush getting a puppy for her birthday ended up being in the news. I would think there are other more important matters to write about or announce. I love animals but I don't really care if Laura Bush gets 50 dogs for her birthday but that's just my own opinion.

Actually nowadays I don't really like watching the news, I find them generally depressing. Am I the only one that after an hour of seeing the news just wants the presenter breaking out to say "Surprise! These things have all been a lie. The truth is we live in a Disney-type world where everyone's happy and no one is killing anyone or starving to death or being so poor they can't afford the medical treatment they need!" I really feel like that when they mention how a man kidnapped and ran over his daughter several times killing her in order to stop paying child support. I also get like that when I see a woman that appears pregnant and the fact is that she can pay for an operation and what's growing inside her is a huge tumor or when I see the images of war. Ok I'm going to stop that now because I'm starting to get depressed.

I think from now on I'm going to stay away from the news and stick to watching movies where the good guy always wins and the world is not an ugly place. Ah who am I kidding I would still be thinking about how things are. I would be wondering what's going on and if maybe things got better. I guess it's like a vicious circle you watch the news and then you watch them the next day to see if things are a bit better and since most things aren't and new things appear then you watch the next day and the next. I think I'm starting to see the appeal of Bush's new puppy in the news. Actually I think I'm gonna go hug my own dog now. How did that quote go? "The more I know men, the more I love my dog."
