Long distance relationships
Switchblade Symphony: Rain
Mood:
Then why the hell would any person get engaged in a relationship like that? Why why oh god why? To begin with I don't think anyone really gets themselves into such a mess on purpose. Sure, you see other people do it but not you. That sort of thing isn't for you. I mean, there are so many fish in the sea. Why would you go for one that is miles away from you right? WRONG!!
One happy day you're just cruising by, living your life and enjoying all the little fishies in your pond/lake/river and then you see the most magnificent fish from afar. Ok maybe I should stop talking about people like they were fishes. So a person catches your eye from afar and you start talking to him/her/it (it? well you never know nowadays) and you establish some sort of bond. Each day that passes the bond gets stronger even if the person is not always there. Then another happy day you notice, you have fallen in love with that fish erm... person. Now here you've got two options, either you get yourself out of there running like a maniac towards the sunset (or like a vampire from the sun, or like the roadrunner from the coyote, well you catch my drift) or you tell your true feelings and hope that the other person feels the same way for you (ok some people just stay there without doing a thing but lets not go there). Of course, running like a maniac is far too easy right? Right; so you tell the person how you feel. Lets say you're the lucky winner of being cared for in the same way. The person from your dreams (if they didn't live so goddamn far) feels the same way. Oohh that a wonderful special moment. After that you have to start learning how to live without the cuddling whenever you want it, the sex whenever your hormones go up, the shoulder to cry on whenever it's too late and you don't want to wake him/her up or when they're busy with their own life. It's a relationship with a lot of sacrifices. You give a lot and you don't always get the same right away.
Another happy day (yes, yet another one) you two decide that the distance is killing you. You want to either move on or work towards being together, people usually go for the later. Lets work on spending the rest of our lives together honey. If things work in the end, you know that you have a bond that has gone through really rough times. Things were worth it. There's someone there that loves you and cares for you, someone you would trust with your life (if you did things right), someone that made sacrifices to be with you. Now that's why people get into long distance relationships. Plus, who would want things to be easy right?
